Croatia was ranked as the best country in the world to retire. The Penfold team said: “The top benefits of moving to Croatia in retirement include the exchange rate, with one British pound equalling just shy of 8.5 Croatia Kronas.” ... Spain was second on the list... The sunny country ranks highly when it comes to happiness. ... Spain is also one of the world’s safest countries with a low crime rate in most of its major cities. Cheap flight costs make it easy for families to visit retirees in Spain and housing costs are also generally lower than in the UK.
